Installation works best if you connect your weather station for the first time when the software is not running

Windows will detect the new device
and automatically install the drivers for it.

If MetStats was running when you connected your weather station for the very first time, it's likely it tried to open the device before it was fully installed. If that's the case, Windows will display a restart now window, (which may be behind MetStats).
