Set up the weather station

After you've connected up your logger, you should set the sampling interval. We use an interval of 5 minutes which lets the station log for approximately two weeks without downloading.

Do this with the weather station connected

You can change the measurements on this page, and they will be uploaded to the weather station. After a delay, the weather station will eventually update its screen to reflect the new settings. This may take up to 1 minute to take effect.

If you click cancel or close instead of OK, your changes will be discarded.

While you can make changes with the station disconnected, they are discarded when you next connect.

Set the relative pressure

The absolute pressure on my unit (despite being at 5m above sea level), is incorrect when compared with the actual atmospheric pressure. We recommend you find a trusted source of barometric pressure, and set the relative pressure. MetStats only ever uses relative pressure.

Set the windspeed

The W8681 doesn't give a very good representation of average windspeed, and we only use gust in our calculations.
